The reason give by Twitter for suspending her account are:

Violating our rules against posting media depicting gratuitous gore.

You may not share excessively graphic media (e.g., severe injuries, torture). Exposure to gratuitous gore can be harmful, especially if the content is posted with intent to delight in cruelty or for sadistic pleasure.

I want to analyse this a bit deeper. When I first met Kay she was only just starting to talk about the terrorist attack that changed her life for ever. Reading her book “The Rage Less Traveled” filled in what she was going through at that time but suffice it to say, I didn’t see this particular picture of her wounds for a long time.

In fact, in the spring of 2016, a few weeks before the Brexit referendum in the UK, I remember a discussion with Kay about whether or not to allow the UK’s Daily Mail newspaper to publish the picture. Eventually Kay decided it was important and necessary. You can see the page from the newspaper with this picture inset bottom right.

It took courage to do that and you should probably know even more about how that picture came to be taken. Knowing Kay, in a way in which no AI and even no moderator at Twitter will ever be able to, I know that this picture is not “posted with intent to delight in cruelty or for sadistic pleasure”. But Twitter have set for themselves an almost impossible task of judging the intent of someone when they post a photograph!

Here’s the extract from Kay’s book that describes how this photograph was taken by a police forensic scientist. During this part, Kay is on serious pain medication and her narrative reflects how her mind was unable to focus and drifted off in all sorts of directions. I’m adding in an exclusive extract from her audio book.

I dream about a company of bald-headed dwarfs, who under the command of my dog Peanut plant sunflower seeds in the Negev Desert. It’s all very pleasant. When I wake up, there is a man with a bald head who has his face in my cleavage. 

Holding a small camera an inch from my chest, his breath tickles my skin. I stare at the specks of sweat on his shiny scalp, then look over at Nurse Olga fidgeting with the drips at the side of the bed. Her hair is pulled back tight. It resembles an onion. I love onions. I love how they feel all papery on the outside, and when the skin is peeled off, they become cool and hard. I can’t eat too many onions though, they make me burp. 

Nurse Olga adjusts the valves and chats away. “This gentleman is from the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Holon. Have you been to Holon, Kay? That’s where the Jewish Agency had the nerve to put us when we arrived in Israel. In those days, Holon wasn’t any more friendly than the Kremlin. We even—”

“Nurse,” says the man, taking his head out of my chest. “Can you take off Kay’s pajamas please, so I can get to her back?” 

While Nurse Olga eases my top off, the man looks past me at the lamp on the headboard. His lips are thick, his forehead high, and his eyes bulge. He gives his best smile and tells me his name is Avi. He doesn’t look like an Avi though, he looks like an explorer, or a philosopher, or a scientist. 

Einstein. I’ll call him Einstein. 

Einstein, who seconds ago had his face in my cleavage, now thanks me in a formal voice for my cooperation and apologizes for the intrusion.

I edge forward so he can get to my back. Even moving a couple of inches brings on the agony of feeling impaled. He grimaces with me and waits for my pain to subside, then embarks on his scientific expedition. He documents what he calls “lacerations.” It sounds exciting. He has an efficient but mysterious method. It involves a tape measure, the camera and a clipboard. Working his way down my side and across my back, he mutters secret formulas to himself, like “two-and-a-half inches,” as if worried he may forget. 

He gives the camera a couple of clicks, puts it down, hurriedly writes on the clipboard and then goes back to the tape measure. It is clammy on my skin and makes me shudder. Camera clicks. Pen scratches. Camera clicks. Pen scratches.

Genius. I am in the presence of genius. 

Engrossed in his mission, Einstein gives me the feeling that he is working on something that will change the world. I wonder what it could be. Whatever it is, I feel quite proud to be part of this great experiment, even though it means being photographed naked from the waist up. 

Nurse Olga resumes her monologue about how, back in the ’90’s, Holon used to be a real dump. But, genius that he is, Einstein is too consumed with his world-breaking discovery. He just says, “Nurse, let me concentrate for a moment, please.” I blink around the room. Einstein must have been so excited at what he discovered that he slipped away without saying goodbye, to carry on working towards his great invention. Olga’s not here anymore either. She must have gone with him. 

And from later on in the book, this photograph is directly part of the evidence used to convict the two terrorists.

He hands them a pile of photographs. “And these are Kay’s injuries.” 

As the judges bend forward to survey the damage, Padan goes into detail. The stenographer types as he speaks. The clicks of the typewriter compete with the traffic. 

“Thirteen machete wounds, a crushed sternum, multiple fractures of ribs, bone splinters in her lungs, a broken shoulder blade and a dislocated shoulder.” 

How can social media scale globally and ever avoid this kind of problem? I don’t have the answer and neither does Twitter or Jack Dorsey.

And just as I’m ready to publish, following Israellycool’s post and tons of tweets, Twitter have reinstated the tweet and reactivated her account. Kay won, as Winston Churchill would say “complete surrender”.

I put this into the wider context of mass censorship on YouTube away from alternative and non-main stream topics and creators and toward the mainstream “safe” for advertisers content that YouTube is able to consistently make money on.

My extra thoughts on this: there’s definitely an element of the fall out from the COPPA settlement, this saw Google fined for collecting data on children watching videos in contravention of a clear law. Whatever directed them to take this action, it is yet another reason why our Crypto Class Action case, links below, is so important!

I’m currently in a bar in Jerusalem killing time: in two hours I’m supposed to be at a screening of Katie Hopkins’ new film “Homelands”.

This was meant to have taken place in a small town just to the north of Tel Aviv, Raanana, home to a large ex-South African anglo population, last night. That was cancelled after an Israeli TV journalist started questioning the venue. As the rabidly far-left and evil Ha’aretz lied in the first paragraph:

The screening of an anti-Muslim documentary by controversial right-wing British media personality Katie Hopkins in Ra’anana, north of Tel Aviv, was canceled over the weekend by “mutual agreement.”

Eyebrows were first raised last week, when it became clear that the sold-out screening was set to take place Monday night in an auditorium that belongs to the municipality of Ra’anana, a city that is home to many immigrants from Western Europe.

There was no mutual agreement. That’s a simple to verify lie by Ha’aretz.

The organisers shifted it forward a day (today) and moved it to another venue in Jerusalem. That was attacked this morning and canceled. Another was found, while I was driving to Jerusalem that one pulled out.

I’ve met Katie, in fact I may even be in her film, she interviewed me but until I see the finished product I don’t know what bits she used.

Just as Israel’s internal politics are marching fast to the right and away from surrender to Islamic Jihad and terror, even our Israeli media, aided and abetted by the Dhimmis in the UK Board of Deputies of British Jews are trying desperately not to acknowledge any truths about the UK or Europe.

There is an increase in Jew hatred, a dramatic one and the vast increase in Islamic immigration to Europe and the even poorer rate at which new immigrants are assimilating in host countries, guarantees that a week minority, like Jews, will be blamed and hates. There are two possibly responses: oppose unbridled immigration and call out Islamic Jew hatred or pretend it doesn’t exist and think that by being nice to new immigrants raised on a Koranic diet of Jew hatred, they’ll change.

Unfortunately the dhimmi Jews of Europe are doing the later and engendering even more hatred toward Jews than otherwise exists (and has always existed) in European populations.

I can guarantee, if Jews were visibly on the front lines of the populist wave, calling for sensible immigration and being very healthily skeptical about Islamic values changing any time soon, there would be far less Jew hatred in Europe instead of far more.

The fact is, with the present Jewish community leadership across Europe, with very few exceptions, their actions have no influence whatsoever on Islamic Jew hatred (which will inexorably rise correlated with the size and strength of Islamic populations) and it gives ammunition to those already steeped in old antisemitic lies of Jewish control and Jewish subterfuge to somehow repress the non Jews. As ridiculous as their old conspiracy theories are, calling anyone who tries to save their native values and culture “far right” or an “Islamophobe” (as they’re calling Katie Hopkins) is making a gigantic mistake.

Now we have to see how long before Treason May in the UK and the various forces of Mordor in the USA, marshalled by Dark Lord Soros, call for Apple and Google to remove the Telegram App from their app stores?

I had a feeling we’d see a movement to Telegram. I had seen it in use by some groups and when Tommy Robinson’s and my primary Facebook account were deleted in February I set up my channel and Tommy’s. It took a while to get him using it but once he did, the growth was astonishing. Despite the initial scepticism of Lizzie Dearden of the Independent not thinking his fans were “young” enough to figure it out. Obviously we’re nudging 40,000 subscribers now!

Yes, I did call the channel “Tommy Robinson’s Friends of Zuck” because I set it up the day that Zuckerberg’s Facebook minions erased Tommy’s page: at that time probably the largest and most active political page in the UK.

On Friday the UK Labour Party’s Shadow Minister for Digital Censorship and banning any speech that isn’t both Sharia compliant and politically correct, Tom Watson, issued a chilling public letter to the Chief Executive of Google (YouTube). He put this out as an image (which is annoying as hell) but I’ve turned it into text and will publish it in full here with my comments back to Mr Tom Watson.

Dear Mr Watson

Dear Mr Pichai

I am contacting with you regard to the use of your YouTube platform by a violent, racist, Islamophobic campaigner called Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, better known in the UK and globally as Tommy Robinson.

I’ll skip over the grammatical issues, as usual you appear to make a big deal out of Tommy Robinson’s “real name”. Most people quickly come to terms with why people stepping into the public eye chose to use pseudonyms. This is especially true when others who have challenged Islam have been murdered or are under continuous death threat (Pim Fortuyn or Salman Rushdie are just two examples). Tommy himself has had a number of serious attempts to take his life with multiple Islamic terrorists currently in UK prisons for attempting to blow him and other to kingdom come in the past.

On Tuesday Facebook and Instagram removed his page, related pages and materials from their platforms for breaching their “Organised Hate” policies. However, as is quite clear from the comments threads on stories documenting this decision, Yaxley-Lennon supporters are transferring over their virulent hate to YouTube.

This paragraph is also filled with grammatical disasters, we’ll just take it as read from here that this letter is something I’ll be showing to my kids as an example of how not to write. Yes, Facebook caved to far-left pressure and deleted Tommy Robinson’s wildly successful Facebook page 24 hours after the posting of his devastating Panodrama documentary and it reaching more than 1 million views on Facebook. Why did this devastating exposé of the BBC trigger such a swift response from Facebook?

Yaxley-Lennon had 294,000 subscribers as of Wednesday. Since then, with YouTube his only remaining platform of global significance, his subscribers have leaped to 325,000. Recent videos he posted have been watched by between one and two million people. He is also using YouTube to move his supporters over to a website www.globalaim.co.uk and encouraging them to make donations to keep his movement alive.

Instead of becoming the UK’s new thought police, do you want, perhaps, to consider why so many people in the UK and world wide are eager to hear what he has to say? You’ve got a problem now: if you truly believe Tommy Robinson represents an ultra-extreme position, why are so many people watching his videos so soon after they’re published?

YouTube’s policy on hate speech prohibits content which promotes violence or hatred against individuals or groups based on attributes including religion, race, immigration status or nationality. Many of his videos are clearly in breach of this policy.

Which videos on his YouTube channel today breach policies? Why haven’t they been taken down already? Clearly, if you believe it to be “many” you’ll have found them and will be able to provide them to us all as an appendix to your letter. I will be calling your office on Monday morning and asking for this list. I am in touch with Tommy and will take up any complaints you have directly with him and consider if any of his videos should be withdrawn.

If you believe Tommy Robinson has breached any of the UK’s draconian, anti-free speech laws, which have been enacted in recent years, why has he not been arrested? As you well know, I’m sure, he was wrongly imprisoned for speaking outside Leeds court. That case was overturned by the highest court in the land, last year, and his wrongful conviction quashed.

I understand YouTube suspended all adverts on his channel in January, cutting off significant revenue stream. I am now writing to implore you as a matter of the utmost urgency to follow the lead that has been, belatedly, set by Facebook, and remove forthwith all “Tommy Robinson” and related pages from your YouTube platform.

Advertiser friendly and contravenes YouTube’s community standards are two totally different categories, for now. Rational people who value free speech hope this remains so.

As the UK’s Shadow Digital Secretary I have recently been making the argument that the social media companies have failed to regulate hate speech and harm on their platforms. It is clear, as I am sure you are aware, that UK legislators are now moving rapidly towards introducing legal regulatory powers to deal with this those who seek to use the garb of freedom of speech to, instead, preach violent hate with the aim of damaging and undermining our society.

I hope UK voters can see that however bad restrictions on what was once considered “free speech” by the “mother of parliaments” are under the current Theresa May Conservative regime, they would be much worse if your Jew hating, Corbyn Labour Party ever seized power.

It is also the case that 30% of Tommy Robinson’s YouTube views come from outside the UK. What right does an out of power politician from the losing political party at the last UK general election have to determine what viewers in America can see?

The public interest is demanding an end to the laissez-faire approach to regulation not just in the UK but globally. However that should not mean that the social media firms avoid their responsibilities in the meantime to take action where it is clearly and vigorously required.

It would appear, seeing as how the Labour Party lost the most recent UK election, the last time this proviso was actually tested before the electorate, they chose the least bad option with regard to destruction of the necessary freedoms for maintaining a recognisable democracy. Freedom of speech, even unpleasant speech, is absolutely necessary to a functioning democracy. The freedom to challenge, with speech, a violent and aggressive ideology would appear to be a basic right you wish to remove from UK citizens like Tommy Robinson and the millions who wish to watch and share his videos.

I would ask that you immediately close down all of Yaxley-Lennon’s sites on YouTube before the virus of his views grooms countless more followers via your platform. I should also inform you, as a matter of politeness, that I will be releasing this letter to the media.

Fortunately the truth is sometimes a particularly virulent virus while the lies you peddle (such as “Islam is a religion of peace” for example) must be reinforced by draconian laws and repeated until the slaves understand the cost of challenging them is too high. Fortunately a few brave people exist to challenge your totalitarian dictates, people like Tommy Robinson.

I look forward to hearing from you.

I just recevied this email from Tommy Robinson’s co-author of Mohammed’s Koran, their joint book which contains the entire unedited text of the Koran and 100 page introduction. Mohammed’s Koran is purely re-ordered in chronological order. You can find my review of it at New English Review.

Amazon have banned Mohammed’s Koran and deleted it from their database (which means even second hand copies cannot be sold). This is the twenty-first century equivalent of the Nazis taking out the books from university libraries and burning them.

Can you think of another scholarly book on Islam that has been banned by Amazon? Mein Kampf is for sale on Amazon. As are books like the terrorist manual called The Anarchist Cookbook.

My recent research shows that the content of Mohammed’s Koran is being taught in universities across the West i.e. they are teaching the chronological order of the Koran and what this means re abrogation. However the academics are using a 1953 book which is being reprinted every two years. Clearly they know this subject is important (or else an obscure scholarly book from 1953 would not be reprinted every two years).

Having spent far too many years doing research in universities I know how they desperately scrabble around for subjects on which to write books and articles. So I know that if this was any other subject than one which truthfully explains the pervasive and perennial problem of Islamic terrorism, then there would be half a dozen books published on it over a couple of decades. But I suspect no academic dares to write an updated account of this subject for fear either a) Muslims will kill them or b) the general public might get wind of the importance of the topic.

Amazon refuse to re-instate the book and refuse to explain why it has been banned.

So they have banned the No.1 best-selling exegesis of the Koran. I can’t get my head round it. Every few weeks for the past 18 months they had emailed me asking to put it into special sales programmes, as it was selling so well. For 18 months they sought to profit even more from the sales. This is a book where verified Amazon customers left over 1000 five star reviews of the book over the last 18 months.

As dark as my vision is, I thought we were ten to twenty years away from dissenting books from being banned.

I suppose I should take some pride in having written a book with 600 footnotes that is worth banning. I feel like I am in the company of William Tyndall. One of the things that motivated me to write that book was I thought that virtually every other book on Islam pulled its punches.
