Persecution of the entire Crypto industry in legacy social media: Twitter

I hadn’t quite realised the extent to which legacy social media like Twitter forbids references to Crypto based businesses. I tried to share a Steem Ninja sign up link on Twitter yesterday and noticed this morning that clicking on it gives this result.

I spent more than 30 minutes yesterday talking to the two people behind the company that runs Steem Ninja which provides a simple way to get onto the blockchain based Steem social media and blogging site for the payment of a small fee. Steem can be joined for free but that can take a few days. They’re real people running a real business. There’s no scam here that I can see, you give them something of value they give you something of value.

If you pay $2.50 you can get on immediately and you’ll have some crypto credit to get you started. It’s not a scam, it’s an alternative to the free to use social media that makes its money by selling YOUR work and information and YOUR attention to others while they show you adverts to pay for the “free” service. Remember, if you’re not paying for something, you are the product that is being sold!

I get a small bonus if someone signs up from the link. Either way, for Twitter to brand this business as potentially fraudulent when it is a direct competitor to its business model is exactly the kind of sneaky behaviour we now expect from these legacy social media sites.

If you do sign up to Steem, please be absolutely sure to note down the rather over complicated list of passwords and encryption keys that pop up just after you chose a user name and before you pay. Do not lose these. Steem is decentralised: that means nobody fully controls it and there simply is no reset system to get an account back if you lose your password.

SPOILER ALERT! DON’T WATCH OR LISTEN TO THIS IF YOU WANT TO WATCH THE MOVIE AND ENJOY IT.

I thought this was going to be a 3rd wave feminist overload movie but it wasn’t. I think the SJWs have captured the marketing department at Marvel but somewhere deep in the story writing parts, there are some real freedom lovers with a strong sense of moral history!

Peaceful Death Threats by Bosch Fawstin

Brian of London by Bosch Fawstin

I’ve known Bosch for a long time: specifically Bosch Fawstin drew my now infamous Brian of London avatar: I sent him a photo before I was prepared to put my real face online and he drew that fantastic cartoon of me (I paid him as a commercial artist). You can see his signature in the corner of my avatar.

You may also recognise his name: he was one of the principle targets of the two Jihadis who drove to Garland, TX, with assault rifles and body armour. Thankfully those two were stopped in the most amazing gun fight by a policeman armed only with a pistol who actually walked toward the two men, while shooting!

Stevens immediately drew his Glock 21 pistol and engaged Simpson with four to five rounds as Simpson fired at him and Joiner with the rifle.

As Stevens fired, he slowly advanced on the suspects from 15 yards away, pressing the attack on the pair as he fired “rhythmically,” obtaining a “decent sight picture” for each round. Stevens was conscious of the fact he had to make his hits count, and his deliberation was rewarded with the sight of Simpson falling to the ground and dropping his rifle.

Switching to the next threat, Stevens pivoted to the left and fired at the driver, Nadir Soofi, who also wore soft armor and LBE, and had a backpack and a pistol. As Soofi rounded the back of the car with his rifle raised in the firing position, his left side was exposed to Stevens, who drew careful aim and shot Soofi in the elbow, above the elbow, the side of the chest and the shoulder, as he continued to advance and fire at a controlled pace.

This story never achieved huge prominence and there is a ton more background to this at Jihad Watch (because Robert Spencer, Pamela Geller and Geert Wilders were also the targets of this attack).

I was nervous about filming this and stepping into this debate. I firmly believe there is a solid centre both in Poland and Israel that is being pushed around by two extremes.

In Israel (and much more strongly within the Jewish diaspora) there is a far-left, identity politics based contingent that must cling to its victimhood to maintain its position in the insane world of intersectional politics. On the Poland side there seems to be a correspondingly extreme contingent which is hyper-sensitive to the historical portrayal of negative aspects of Polish WW2 history.

I didn’t say it in the video, but I should have: the idea of banning people from saying that Nazi death camps in Poland were Polish death camps is the same sort of speech policing we see from the far-left with hate speech laws! Hate speech policing is bad whenever it occurs and from whoever it occurs.

Somewhere in the centre, where most of us reside, and I’d put Netanyahu in that camp but not our loose tongued and unwise foreign minister Katz, most of us can acknowledge the past without whitewashing it or overly condemning people who also suffered horribly at the hands of the Nazis whilst fighting back heroically.

Build a wall! And paint it nicely

Looking at Israel’s border wall and fence with Lebanon in the north

My fellow No Agenda Knight and producer, Sir Jono, is boots on the ground in northern Israel today and snapped a few shots of a spot where Israel’s border with Lebanon is an actual wall. You can see the fence in this shot.

Photos from Jono Rose northern Israel border with Lebanon

Most of the time it is a highly sophisticated, electronically monitored fence. In certain places, however, usually where there are issues with direct line of sight and possible sniper attacks, there is a wall. As you can see, on the Israeli side, this has been decorated. Rather nicely!

I recorded a video a while back explaining the fence/wall as it applies to the area around Jerusalem and the disputed territories (Judea and Samaria). The principle is largely the same up north. Fences are favoured but they are watched with devoted attention and walls are only used where it is specifically necessary and determined by threat levels and engineering assessment.
